Obba (town)
Obba was an Ancient town in Roman North Africa. It is now a Latin Catholic titular see. Location Obba was near Carthage, in modern Tunisia, and is placed in the Roman province of Africa Proconsularis by the ''Annuario Pontificio''. Sophrone Pétridès is a lone voice in placing it in the split-off Roman province of Byzacena, further south. According to the ''Catholic Encyclopaedia'', it is the modern Ebba. (Abbah Quşūr?) Pétridès says the town was situated on the highway from Carthage to Theveste (modern Tebessa), seven miles from Lares (now Lorbeus) and sixteen miles from Altiburus (Henshir Medina). Werner Huß sees as the most likely location modern Henchir Bou Djaoua or Henchir Merkeb en-Nabi. History Polybius mentions the town, under the name of ''Abba'', as the place Syphax retreated to in the Second Punic War (218-201 BC) after Numidian king Masinissa and the Romans burned his camp near Utica, Tunisia, Utica, and Livy mentions it as where Syphax linked up with a b ...

Obba (fungus)
''Obba'' is a genus of three species of poroid, white rot crust fungi in the family Gelatoporiaceae. The genome sequence of the type species, '' O. rivulosa'', was reported in 2016. Taxonomy The genus was circumscribed in 2012 by mycologists Otto Miettinen and Mario Rajchenberg. The three species are members of the ''Cinereomyces'' clade, a grouping of phylogenetically related fungi distinct from the core polyporoid clade. '' O. rivulosa'' was introduced to science by Miles Joseph Berkeley and Moses Ashley Curtis in 1869 as ''Polyporus rivulosus''. The type species, '' O. valdiviana'', was originally described as a variety of '' Ceriporiopsis rivulosa'' by Rajchenberg in 1995. The genus was formally transferred to the new family Gelatoporiaceae in 2017. The generic name ''Obba'' alludes to the similarity of the bottle-shaped cystidioles characteristic of the genus to the household containers for liquids used in Rome. Description ''Obba'' species have crust- ...

Camaenidae
Camaenidae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea, the typical snails and their allies. This is one of the most diverse families in the clade Stylommatophora. These snails occur in a wide variety of habitats in the tropics of Eastern Asia and Australasia. A large American group, which is mainly represented by species from the Caribbean, has, until recently, also been subsumed under the Camaenidae. However, latest molecular phylogenetic studies showed that these species represent a different family, the Pleurodontidae. This molecular study also implies that the Bradybaeninae, previously being treated as a distinct family within the Helicoidea, is a junior synonym of the Camaenidae. Anatomy Camaenid shells are often quite large (25–50 mm), but a number of species also have small shells (<5 mm). Shells reveal a remarkable diversity in shape and colour, which is partly linked with their ...
