Oakwood-Lincoln Park is a residential and commercial neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States that was developed in the early 20th century as two suburban neighborhoods. Location Oakwood-Lincoln Park is bounded by North Broadway (US-441) on the East and the Old North Knoxville neighborhood and the former Southern Railway Coster Shop Yards to the South. It is bounded by Interstate 275 and Sharp's Ridge on the West. On the North it is bounded by the neighborhood of Arlington prior to the confluence of Sharp's Ridge and North Broadway. The Lonsdale neighborhood lies across I-275 to the West. First Creek flows through the eastern portion of the neighborhood near North Broadway. Market Square, Knoxville
Market Square is a historic district and pedestrian mall located in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. Established in 1854 as a market place for regional farmers, the square has developed over the decades into a multipurpose venue that accommodates events ranging from concerts to political rallies, and has long provided a popular gathering place for artists, street musicians, war veterans, and activists. Along with the Market House, Market Square was home to Knoxville's City Hall from 1868 to 1924. Market Square was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Lincoln Park United Methodist Church
Lincoln Park United Methodist Church is a historic church at 3120 Pershing Street in Knoxville, Tennessee. The church is a brick- veneered frame building that was built in 1926. The identity of its architect is not known, but the design suggests the work of Charles I. Barber. The entrance to the building is framed by columns with Doric capitals. Interior furnishings include oak pews, stained glass windows, a coffered ceiling over the sanctuary, and an altar balustrade. Sharp's Ridge is a steep ridge in Knoxville, Tennessee, north of the city's downtown. A area of the ridge is maintained as Sharp's Ridge Memorial Park, a city park dedicated to the honor of the area's war veterans. Interstate 275 (I-275) is an Interstate Highway in Tennessee that serves Knoxville by connecting the downtown with I-75/ I-640/ US Route 25W (US 25W). Measuring in length, it runs from a northern terminus at the junction with I-75/I-640/US 25W to a southern terminus at I-40. Route description I-275 begins at a complicated interchange with I-40 in Downtown Knoxville. US 441 southbound (Henley Street), State Route 62 (SR 62, Western Avenue), and 11th Street are also directly accessible from I-275 southbound at this interchange, and northbound I-275 is directly accessible from US 441 northbound and SR 62 here. Old North Knoxville is a neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States, located just north of the city's downtown area. Initially established as the town of North Knoxville in 1889, the area was a prominent suburb for Knoxville's upper middle and professional classes until the 1950s.
