Oakville Transit
Oakville Transit is the public transportation provider in Oakville, Ontario, Canada since 1972. It is a department of the town and a member of the Canadian Urban Transit Association. It offers the typical conventional bus service, and a para-transit service, called ''care-A-van'', for those unable to use the conventional service. The care-A-van takes riders directly to the address they desire. The original logo for Oakville Transit, no longer in use, was by renowned designer Stuart Ash. Routes and connections The Oakville GO rail and bus station, located at 214 Cross Avenue, is the main bus terminus. Oakville Transit connects with Burlington Transit to the west, and MiWay to the east. In addition, Oakville, Bronte, and Clarkson GO stations are also connected. Oakville GO Station
Oakville GO Station is a GO Transit railway station and bus station in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. It is colocated and shares platforms with Via Rail's Oakville railway station. It is a stop on GO's Lakeshore West line train service and, until October 2007, served as the western terminus for weekend service. On weekdays, one branch of the Highway 407 GO bus service, that connects with Sheridan College, Square One Bus Terminal, Bramalea GO Station, and Highway 407 Bus Terminal terminates at this station. Apart from Union Station, Oakville is the busiest station in GO Transit's network by passenger volume. MiWay (pronounced "my way"; stylized miWAY), also known as Mississauga Transit and originally as Mississauga Transit Systems, is the municipal public transport agency serving Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and is responsible to the city's Transportation and Works Department. The Presto card (stylized as PRESTO) is a contactless smart card automated fare collection system used on participating public transit systems in the province of Ontario, Canada, specifically in Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Ottawa. Presto card readers were implemented on a trial basis from 25 June 2007 to 30 September 2008. Full implementation began in November 2009 and it was rolled out across rapid transit stations, railway stations, bus stops and terminals, and transit vehicles on eleven different transit systems. South Common Centre Bus Terminal
The South Common Centre Bus Terminal is located in western Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is situated on the western side of South Common Centre. The terminal does not contain a building, partly due to having direct connection to the mall and to the nearby buildings such as South Common Library. Instead, it is formatted as a transit mall, with benches and bus shelters on either side of the terminal. Tickets and passes for both transit systems are available inside the South Common Centre. MiWay tickets and passes are also sold at South Common Community Centre, which is also located beside the terminal. Clarkson GO Station
Clarkson GO Station is a GO Transit railway station and bus station in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Lakeshore West line train service, serving the Clarkson neighbourhood. History The original railway station was located about 800 meters to the east of the present day station, on the north side of the railway tracks, behind Warren Clarkson's store and Post Office on the west side of Clarkson Road (Today Clarkson Road North). It was built in 1853 by the Great Western Railway at the corner of the property which became known as Clarkson's Corner. The apostrophe in Clarkson's was removed from the sign in 1956, on the CNR station which burned down in 1962, although Corner had long since disappeared from usage. The station brought commerce to local fruit and vegetable farmers, with corn, apples and especially strawberries being the main produce in Clarkson.
