Oakfield (town), New York
Oakfield is a town in Genesee County, New York, United States. The population was 3,250 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is derived from a number of trees, including the oak. The town is on the northern border of Genesee County. Within the town is a village also named Oakfield. History Prehistoric earthworks indicate a previous occupation by Native Americans. The local tribe during historic time were the Seneca people. The manner in which they cut down the trees on their land gave rise to the phrase "Oak Orchard," which has current usage in the area. The area was once known as "Plain Brook", after it was first settled around 1801. The town was formed in 1842 from the town of Elba and named "Oakfield". In 1858, the community of Caryville set itself off from the town by incorporating as the village of Oakfield. Oakfield Preparatory School
Oakfield Preparatory School is an independent coeducational preparatory school in West Dulwich, Lambeth. Oakfield is a member of the Independent Schools Association. With over 350 boys and girls aged between 2 and 11, it is housed in historic Georgian buildings each side of the South Circular at the junction with Croxted Road. For many years a senior school was run from the building on the south side of the road under the name of John Wycliffe Prep School, for 11-16 year olds. Oakfield Park School
Oakfield Park School (formerly OakTree School) is a coeducational special school in Ackworth, West Yorkshire, England. In early 2000s Oakfield Tree School was renamed into Oakfield Park School On 5 September 2017 new classrooms were opened, and to communicate with new and ongoing students (though kept a ongoing students) a Blu-ray Disc system was installed in some classrooms. The village planned to open an Ackworth FM studio and launch the station by 2019 next to the Oakfield Park School on the left side of the tennis court. This failed due to the station going into administration, and the station license was not awarded by Ofcom. The building was demolished. New building In late-2014 work on the New Building had begun. The new building was completed, and a new logo was introduced in summer 2015. Jumpers and T-shirts for students were redesigned accordingly. Oakfield, Nova Scotia
Oakfield is a community of the Halifax Regional Municipality in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The community was founded and named by John Wimburn Laurie. He built St. Margaret's of Scotland Church and is the namesake of Laurie Park. He arrived in Canada in 1861. In 1865 he purchased 800 acres in Oakfield. He brought twenty families from England.
