Oak Point-Bartibog Bridge ( ) is a local service district in New Brunswick, Canada. The name is sometimes spelled Bartibogue Bridge. History Two noted landmarks are the MacDonald Farm Provincial Historic Site, an 18th-century stone farmhouse built by Colonel Alexander MacDonald, an early pioneer in the Miramichi area. It is now a Provincial Historic Site. A second is St Peter and St Paul's Church at Moody's Point, one of the earliest churches in the area, serving Scotch Catholics of the surrounding districts. A local service district (LSD) is a provincial administrative unit for the provision of local services in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. LSDs relate to areas of the province's former county municipalities that were not incorporated as municipalities around centres of population. They are defined in law by the ''Local Service Districts Regulation'' of the ''Municipalities Act''. In 2017, the ''Municipalities Act'' was replaced by the ''Local Governance Act'', which continued the ''Local Service Districts Regulation''. LSDs are operated by provincial staff. The Miramichi Valley is a Canadian river valley and region in the east-central part of New Brunswick. It extends along both major branches of the Miramichi River and their tributaries, however it is generally agreed that the much larger Southwest Miramichi River forms the majority of this region as it is more settled than the Northwest Miramichi River.
