ONAR
ONAR (in Greek: ΟΝΑΡ), is a Greek pop rock group, primarily composed by Lefteris Pliatsikas throughout the band's career. The band's name is the ancient Greek word for "dream". History The band was formed in 1998. In 1999, they released their first LP with songs by Lefteris and produced by renowned Greek songwriter Filippos Pliatsikas, under the title "To ergo pou paizoun ta matia sou". From the very first instant, the album won positive reviews. Songs such as "Me tromazeis", "Hartina Fanaria", "Galazies Erwmenes" became popular, making the LP ''golden''. In 2000 they released their second album entitled "Min petas tha se doun", which marked the participation of Teresa Salgueiro of Madredeus in a song based on a poem by Federico García Lorca. Manos Ksydous, another renown Greek songwriter, also participated with two songs. This LP had a notable commercial success, as well. Filippos Pliatsikas
Filippos Pliatsikas (Greek: Φίλιππος Πλιάτσικας) is a musician, composer and lyricist. He was the main composer, lyricist, and lead singer of the Entekhno rock group Pyx Lax (Πυξ Λαξ) and now a solo artist. Career Filippos Pliatsikas was born in Athens and has been involved in music from the age of 12. From 1989 he was a founding member of the most popular band in Greece “PIX LAX” and until 2004 when the band broke up, he wrote and sang songs like “I Palies Agapes Pane Sto Paradiso”, “Monaxia Mou Ola” “Epapses Agapi Na Thimizis” and many more. His solo career since 2004 has been equally impressive and his albums continue to reach gold and platinum sales. Minos EMI is a record company based in Athens, Greece. The company serves as the Greek record label and offices of the multinational Universal Music Group. EMI is credited for founding the record business in Greece in the 1930s, by producing the first records and building the country's first recording studio. The Athens Concert Hall ( Greek: Μέγαρον Μουσικής Αθηνών, ''Mégaron Mousikis Athinon'') is a concert hall located on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue in Athens, Greece. The Hall was inaugurated in 1991 with two halls. Since then it has been augmented with two more halls and now has a total of four: two large and two smaller ones. Lefteris (Eleftherios) Papadopoulos ( el, Λευτέρης Παπαδόπουλος) is a Greek lyricist, writer and journalist. Lefteris Papadopoulos was born in Athens, Greece on 14 November 1935. He is the son of Greek refugees, with a father from a village near Bursa in today's Turkey and a mother from a village near Novorossiysk in Russia. His parents were expelled in 1924 during the population exchange between Greece and Turkey. He enrolled at the Law School of the University of Athens but stopped during his third year in order to work as a journalist. Since 1959 Papadopoulos has worked in the newspaper Ta Nea and has become a popular columnist over time. Papadopoulos became involved with music in 1963. Socrates Drank the Conium, known also as Socrates, is a Greek rock band that formed in 1969 and achieved success in the 1970s. Biography Early years Machairitsas was born in Volos and began taking piano lessons at the age of six. These lessons lasted a year.
