OK Maribor
Odbojkarski klub Merkur Maribor ( en, Merkur Maribor Volleyball Club) or simply OK Maribor is a Slovenian professional volleyball team based in Maribor. The team play their home games at Tabor Hall and competes in the Slovenian Volleyball League, the top division of Slovenian volleyball. Founded in 1945, the club has won the national championship three times (1992, 1993 and 2021) and the Slovenian national cup four times (1992, 1994, 1995 and 2006). History Immediately after the Second World War, on 14 June 1945, the men's volleyball section of the Železničar Sports Association was established. They played in the inaugural edition of the Slovenian national championship in 1946 and finished in fourth place. Tabor Hall
Tabor Hall ( sl, Dvorana Tabor) is a multi-purpose sports venue in Maribor, Slovenia. Completed in 1984, it has a capacity for 3,261 spectators. The complex consists of two halls; the main hall for basketball, volleyball, handball and mass events, and the smaller hall, which is mostly used for table tennis and bowling, and also has a fitness centre. Siol.net is a Slovenian web media and the oldest news portal in Slovenia. It is owned and managed by TSmedia company that is itself owned by the Telekom Slovenije. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The Middle European League or MEVZA League is a regional volleyball league, contested by the club teams from the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA). ACH Volley
ACH Volley is a Slovenian men's volleyball club based in Ljubljana that competes in the Slovenian League. They play their home matches at Tivoli Hall. The club was founded in 1970 and was based in Bled until 2011, when the team relocated to Ljubljana. Maribor
Maribor ( , , , ; also known by other #Name, historical names) is the second-largest city in Slovenia and the largest city of the traditional region of Styria (Slovenia), Lower Styria.
