Ozark Music Festival, (1974)
The Ozark Music Festival was held on July 19–21, 1974 on the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, Missouri. It is estimated that anywhere from 160,000 to 350,000 were in attendance at the three day festival. The event was marked by mismanagement as the facilities were not equipped for the number of attendees. Promotion The Ozark Music Festival was organized by Musical Productions, Inc., a company created by a group of Kansas City businessmen for the purpose of promoting the festival. Chris Fritz served as president, and Robert Shaw handled the advertising and general production for the event. On February 21, 1974, prior to its March incorporation, the company's legal counsel sent a letter to Ron Jones, Secretary of the Missouri State Fair, officially proposing the music festival and suggesting that it be held on the fairgrounds. The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. Peter Sinfield
Peter John Sinfield (born 27 December 1943) is an English poet and songwriter. He is best known as the co-founder and former lyricist of King Crimson, whose debut album ''In the Court of the Crimson King'' is considered one of the first and most influential progressive rock albums ever released. Sinfield's lyrics are known for their surreal imagery, often involving common fantasy concepts, nature, or the sea. They often also deal with emotional concepts and, sometimes, storyline concepts. Bachman–Turner Overdrive, often abbreviated BTO, were a Canadian rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, founded by Randy Bachman, Robbie Bachman and Fred Turner in 1973. The ''Sedalia Democrat'' is an American daily newspaper published in Sedalia, Missouri. It was founded in 1868 as the ''Democratic Press'', a weekly newspaper. It became the ''Sedalia Democrat'' soon after. It began its daily edition, originally called the ''Daily Democrat'', December 19, 1871 until 1873. It was also published as the ''Sedalia Weekly Democrat'' from 1872 and the ''Sedalia Evening Democrat'' from 1891 until 1906. Jefferson Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1974 by a group of musicians including former members of Jefferson Airplane.
