Oxberry, Mississippi
Oxberry is an unincorporated community located in Grenada County, Mississippi, United States and part of the Grenada Micropolitan Statistical Area . Oxberry is approximately northwest of Holcomb, Mississippi and approximately south-southeast of Cascilla, Mississippi on Mississippi Highway 35. Oxberry is named for James Oxberry, who was a Choctaw interpreter and owned the surrounding land where the community developed. The community was once home to a saw mill and cotton gin. A post office operated under the name Oxberry from 1891 to 1908. Dianne Oxberry
Diane Clare Hindley (nee Oxberry) (13 August 1967 – 10 January 2019) was an English broadcaster and meteorologist, best known as a long-serving TV and radio presenter for BBC North West. She presented weather forecasts for the regional news programme ''North West Tonight'' for 23 years until her death in 2019. Early life Oxberry was born on 13 August 1967 in Sunderland, County Durham, to Francis Joseph Oxberry (1935–1983) and Margaret R. Dent. Career Oxberry originally joined the BBC as a personal assistant at Radio 2, having previously auditioned for a presenting role on the youth music series '' No Limits'' for BBC2. She began her broadcasting career on Radio 1, working alongside Steve Wright and in March 1990 Diane became part of Simon Mayo's on-air team for the weekday breakfast programme. William Oxberry
William Oxberry (1784–1824) was an English actor. He also wrote extensively on the theatre, and was a printer and publisher. Early life Oxberry was the son of an auctioneer, born on 18 December 1784 in Moorfields, London, opposite Bedlam. After a false start as a pupil of George Stubbs at age 14, he worked in a bookseller's shop, and in the office in Tottenham Court Road of a printer named Seale, an amateur actor. At a stable near Queen Anne Street, and subsequently at the theatre in Berwick Street, he took on parts including Hassan in '' The Castle Spectre'' ( "Monk" Lewis) and Rosse in '' Macbeth''. Oxberry's indentures were cancelled in 1802, and he appeared under Samuel Jerrold, at the Watford theatre. He joined, as low comedian, Trotter's company (Worthing, Hythe, and Southend theatres).
