Owen Walter was born in August 15, 1979. He was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchwewan, Canada. He is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Education and career Walter attended Brown University, where he played four seasons (1999-2003) of NCAA college hockey with the Brown Bears, scoring 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points while earning 76 penalty minutes in 81 games played. In his senior year, he was presented with the 2003 Charles A. Robinson Memorial Trophy, an annual award given to the Brown University hockey letterman attaining the highest academic average for his first seven semesters. Rockford IceHogs (UHL)
The Rockford IceHogs were a minor professional ice hockey team in Rockford, Illinois. They were a member of the United Hockey League from 1999 to 2007. The IceHogs played their home games at the Rockford MetroCentre, MetroCentre. In 2007, the name and logo were purchased and applied to the current Rockford IceHogs, American Hockey League franchise. After the transfer of the name and logo to the AHL franchise was complete, the UHL IceHogs ceased operations. The IceHogs began play in October 1999. The team name, IceHogs, was selected during a "name-the-team" contest. The team came to Rockford when United Sports Ventures bought the rights of the Thunder Bay Thunder Cats UHL franchise, one of the original franchises in the Colonial Hockey League in 1991 as the Thunder Bay Thunder Hawks. The Brown Bears men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Brown University. The Bears are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the Meehan Auditorium in Providence, Rhode Island. History The men's ice hockey team at Brown is one of the country's oldest programs, having played their first game in 1898. That season, the team helped to form the first informal conference, the Intercollegiate Hockey Association, and wound up winning the league championship.
