Owen Tippett
Owen Tippett (born February 16, 1999) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted with the tenth overall pick by the Florida Panthers at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior hockey Mississauga Steelheads (2015–19) Considered by scouts as the best pure natural goal scorer at his age group, Tippett was drafted in the first round, fourth overall, in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection by the Mississauga Steelheads. Tippett appeared in his first career OHL game on September 25, 2015, as he was held with no points in a 7–0 win over the Ottawa 67's. Tippett recorded his first OHL goal and point in his fourth career game, as he scored against Lucas Peressini of the Kingston Frontenacs in a 3–1 victory on October 2. Mackenzie Blackwood (born December 9, 1996) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Blackwood was the top-rated North American goaltender ranked in the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's final rankings for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He was selected by the Devils in the second round, 42nd overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Early life Blackwood was born on December 9, 1996, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. His father was involved in local ice hockey teams, while his mother played basketball and track and field. The Flint Firebirds are a major junior ice hockey team based in Flint, Michigan. The team plays home games at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center, and operates as a member of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The team began play for the 2015–16 season. In June 2019, the Firebirds announced the Leamington Flyers (GOJHL) as an affiliate. The Kitchener Rangers are a major junior ice hockey team based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Midwest Division of the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League. The Saginaw Spirit are a major junior ice hockey team based in Saginaw, Michigan. They are members of the West Division of the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), one of the Major Junior leagues of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The Sudbury Wolves are an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) ice hockey team based in Greater Sudbury, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
