Owen Sexton
Owen Sexton (born 1975) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer who played as a centre-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Kilbrittain, County Cork, Sexton first played competitive Gaelic football whilst at school at Hamilton High School, Bandon. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, winning a Minor football All-Ireland medal in 1993, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1997 championship. Sexton went on to play a key role for the team for over a decade, winning three Munster medals and one National Football League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. He won a Senior football county medal with Carbery in 2004 with a 'Man of the Match' performance from Full Back. Kilbrittain GAA
Kilbrittain GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Kilbrittain, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in Gaelic football and Hurling, but is primarily known for hurling. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions. The club is a member of Carbery division of Cork GAA. History Kilbrittain GAA club was founded in 1904. It has been primarily a hurling club throughout its history, though it did play in the Cork Junior Football Championship final in 1926. Hurling has always been the first sport in the parish. From the beginning, especially in the 1920s, the club had some successes in the South-West division, winning 6 titles in a row and again in 1930, 1938, 1940, 1941 and 1942. Kilbrittain or Killbrittain () is the name of a village, townland and parish in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Derek Kavanagh (born 29 October 1980 in Tony Ville, High Street, Cork (city), Cork, Irish people, Ireland) is an Irish people, Irish sportsperson. Colin Corkery
Colin Corkery (born 5 January 1971) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for his local club Nemo Rangers and at senior level for the Cork county team from 1993 until 2004. Playing career Club Corkery played his club football with the Nemo Rangers club on the south side of Cork city, with whom he has had a number of successes. He first came to prominence as a player on the club's minor team that captured the Cork Minor Football Championship title in 1989. Corkery subsequently joined the Nemo Rangers senior team. He secured a county championship winners' medal in this grade in 1993, following a nine-point defeat of near rivals St. Finbarr's. Nemo later represented Cork in the provincial club championship and even reached the final of that competition. A 1–17 to 0–4 drubbing of Kilmurray Ibrickane gave Corkery a Munster club winners' medal. Brian Cuthbert
Brian Cuthbert (born 1975) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. Born in Bishopstown, Cork, Cuthbert first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. Although he never played in the senior grade, Cuthbert won an All-Ireland medal as captain of the minor team in 1993. At club level Cuthbert is a two-time championship medallist in the intermediate grade with Bishopstown as a hurler. In retirement from playing Cuthbert became involved in team management and coaching. He began his career with various Cork development squads and the Cork Institute of Technology freshers team, before two years as manager of the Cork minor football team. He served as a senior selector under Conor Counihan while he also is heavily involved in coaching with the Bishopstown club side. The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, bar one, since the 1888 championship.
