North Coventry Township is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,866 at the 2010 census. History The township derives its name from Coventry, England, the native home of an early settler. The Pottstown Landing Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.18%, is water. It is drained by the Schuylkill River, which forms its natural northern boundary with Montgomery County. Owen Roberts
Owen Josephus Roberts (May 2, 1875 â May 17, 1955) was an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1930 to 1945. He also led two Roberts Commissions, the first of which investigated the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the second of which focused on works of cultural value during World War II. Born in Philadelphia, Roberts graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and pursued a legal career. After working as a district attorney in Philadelphia, he was appointed by President Calvin Coolidge to investigate the Teapot Dome scandal. After the death of Associate Justice Edward Terry Sanford in March 1930, President Herbert Hoover nominated John J. Parker to fill the vacancy on the court. The Senate rejected Parker and Hoover quickly nominated Roberts as his second choice for the vacancy. Roberts was easily confirmed and took his position on the court in May 1930. East Vincent Township
East Vincent Township is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 6,821 at the 2010 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which, of it are land and of it (1.10%) is covered by water. The township is partially located in the Hopewell Big Woods. History In 1686, Dr. Daniel Coxe received a land patent from William Penn. Major Robert Thompson and he owned what is now East and West Vincent. In 1733, the German Reformed Congregation of Vincent Township was formed. Two years later, in 1735, the Vincent Mennonite Meeting was formed. In that same year, Garrett Brumbaugh established a tavern on Ridge Road. Nicholas Kaiser soon opened a grist mill near the mouth of Pigeon Creek in 1737, and so began the formation of East Vincent.
