''Overcomer'' is the fifth studio album by contemporary Christian music singer Mandisa. The album was released on August 27, 2013, on Sparrow Records. The album has achieved commercial charting successes, as well as critical acclaim by music critics. It also won a Grammy Award in the category of Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. Mandisa
Mandisa Lynn Hundley (born October 2, 1976), known professionally as Mandisa, is an American gospel and contemporary Christian recording artist. Her career began as a contestant in the fifth season of ''American Idol'', in which she finished in ninth place. She is the fifth ''American Idol'' alumna to win a Grammy Award, for her album '' Overcomer'' in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album category. Tony Wood is an American songwriter working primarily in the contemporary Christian music (CCM) genre. He has received five Gospel Music Association Dove Awards for songwriting. Early and personal life Wood was raised in Chase City, Virginia and graduated from Bluestone High School ( Skipwith, VA) and Averett College (now University in Danville, VA.) Anthem Lights is an American Christian group originating from Los Angeles. The group has released one EP under their former name, Yellow Cavalier and six albums under their current name. The group's debut album was released May 10, 2011 by Reunion Records. Beginnings Anthem Lights began as a solo project for vocalist Chad Graham in the fall of 2007.
