Gabriel-Julien Ouvrard
Gabriel-Julien Ouvrard was a French financier who was born in Moulins d'Antières at Cugand (Vendée) on 11 October 1770 and who died in London in October 1846. Revolution (1787–1800) The son of a paper mill owner, Gabriel-Julien Ouvrard received a basic education, joining a trading house in Nantes in 1787 as an employee. By the end of the Ancien Régime, the trading house was associated with Bordeaux shipowners Baour et Balguerie. Under the Directoire, the trading house enriched itself considerably through colonial trade and military supplies. It then controlled three trading houses in Brest, Nantes and Orleans, the bank of Gamba, Gay et compagnie in Antwerp as well as having large shareholdings in three companies in Paris (Girardot et compagnie, Rougemont et compagnie, Charlemagne et compagnie). Hélène Ouvrard
Hélène Ouvrard (November 3, 1938 – January 6, 1999) was a Quebec writer. Biography The daughter of Bernadette Boily and Jean de la Salle Ouvrard, she was born in Montreal and was educated at the Collège Marguerite-Bourgeoys, also studying painting at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal and studying piano. From 1968 to 1969, she worked on publicity at the National Film Board of Canada. She was also a freelance writer for the National Film Board and for Radio Canada. She was the main editor for the series of publications ''Initiation aux métiers d'art du Québec''. Ouvrard also contributed to the magazines ''Châtelaine'' and ''La Barre du jour''. She was awarded a number of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and from the Quebec Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Jean-Pierre Ouvrard (16 February 1948 in Trémentines (Maine-et-Loire) – 13 November 1992 in Tours (Indre-et-Loire)) was a French musicologist, music educator, researcher at the François Rabelais University and choral conductor. He founded the Ensemble Jacques Moderne in 1973 and the ''Centre de musique ancienne'' in Tours in 1991.
