Outstanding Manilan Award
The Outstanding Manilan Award, also known as the Outstanding Manilan Medallion of Honor, is conferred annually on recipients in fields including business, communications, diplomacy, finance, public service and spiritual leadership. It is given out by the City of Manila. The award was established in 1980. Auraeus Solito, also known as Kanakan-Balintagos, is a Palawán-Filipino filmmaker and indigenous peoples rights advocate who comes from a lineage of shaman-kings from the Palawán tribe. He was one of the first to be born outside of his tribal land of South Palawan. Amelia Lirag Lapeña-Bonifacio (4 April 1930 – 29 December 2020) was a Filipino playwright, puppeteer, and educator known as the "Grande Dame of Southeast Asian Children's Theatre". In 1977, she founded a children's theater troupe, Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas (Mulat Theater), the official theater company and puppetry troupe of the University of the Philippines. Ben Farrales (1 July 1932 – 6 March 2021) was a Filipino fashion designer most known for his Muslim-inspired dress designs. Early life and education Farrales was born on July 1, 1932, in Cotabato City to Salvador Farrales and Paulina Samio. He attended San Beda College for his early education.
