Outsideinside
''Outsideinside'' is the second album by American power trio Blue Cheer. Philips Records released the album in August 1968, only seven months after their debut LP, ''Vincebus Eruptum''. The album was recorded both outdoors and indoors—hence the title of the album. The songs include contributions from all members, along with two covers: " Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones and " The Hunter" by Albert King. The album was re-released on CD in 1999 by Italian-based Akarma Records. It includes an additional song from the original sessions, titled "Fortunes", as a bonus track. ''Outsideinside'' reached number 90 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album chart. " Just a Little Bit" was the first single from the album; it peaked at number 92 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart. Blue Cheer
Blue Cheer was an American rock band that initially performed and recorded in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was sporadically active until 2009. Based in San Francisco, Blue Cheer played in a psychedelic blues rock or acid rock style, and are also credited as being some of the earliest pioneers of heavy metal, with their cover of "Summertime Blues" sometimes cited as the first in the genre. They have also been noted as influential in the development of genres as disparate as punk rock, stoner rock, doom metal, experimental rock, and grunge. Leigh Stephens is an American guitarist and songwriter best known for being former lead guitarist of the San Francisco psychedelic rock group Blue Cheer. Blue Cheer Leigh Stephens has recorded two albums with the band, ''Vincebus Eruptum'' and ''Outsideinside''. He has claimed to have been the only member of the band who did not use drugs. ''Vincebus Eruptum'' (; pseudo-Latin) is the debut album of American rock band Blue Cheer. Released on January 16, 1968, the album features a heavy-thunderous blues sound, which would later be known as heavy metal. A commercial and critical success, ''Vincebus Eruptum'' peaked at number 11 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart and spawned the number 14 hit cover of Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues". Being an example of hard rock, it is also lauded as one of the first heavy metal albums. Spin magazine placed it at number 22 on their list of the 40 greatest metal albums. ''New! Improved!'' is the third album by American rock group Blue Cheer. Released in March 1969 by Philips Records, it is their first without original guitarist Leigh Stephens. The album features songs recorded by two different group lineups: in addition to bassist and vocalist Dickie Peterson and drummer Paul Whaley, side one includes Bruce Stephens (no relation to Leigh) on guitar and Burns Kellogg on keyboards; while side two includes Randy Holden on guitar and vocals. The two lineups contribute very different material. With Holden, the approach is closer to the previous psychedelic hard rock of Blue Cheer albums; with Kellogg and Peterson, they explore more understated blues rock and country rock styles. Abe Keshishian, known professionally as Abe "Voco" Kesh (November 4, 1933 – July 3, 1989) was a San Francisco-based disc jockey and record producer. He is best-known for discovering the seminal hard rock band Blue Cheer, and for producing their first two albums, ''Vincebus Eruptum'' and ''Outsideinside''. He also produced the band's 1968 Top 10 cover of Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues." He worked as a DJ at the legendary KSAN San Francisco doing the overnight show. He was born in Detroit, and died at the Marin Hotel in San Rafael, where he lived the final 14 years of his life. Pitchfork
A pitchfork (also a hay fork) is an agricultural tool with a long handle and two to five tines used to lift and pitch or throw loose material, such as hay, straw, manure, or leaves.
