Ron McLean (writer)
Ron McLean (1943–1983) was an Australian screenwriter, producer and executive producer, best known for his work on TV. He wrote most of the episodes for ''Spyforce'', which he helped create. He had a long collaboration with producer Roger Mirams. Biography McLean was running a woman's shoe shop in Double Bay, Sydney when he read an article about a TV series being made in Australia, ''Riptide'' (1969). He sent them a couple of stories which the show liked and he taught himself how to adapt them into scripts. He wrote some episodes of '' Skippy the Bush Kangaroo'' and did sketches for ''The Mavis Bramston Show''. He came much in demand in the early 70s, writing a number of shows for Crawford Productions. McLean met Roger Mirans when working on ''Woobinda, Animal Doctor''. The two formed a company, South Pacific Films, which made ''Spyforce''. George Mallaby (actor)
George Mallaby (4 November 1939 – 12 July 2004) was an English-born actor and screenwriter, best known for his roles in television in Australia and in his latter career in his native England. Life Mallaby was born in Hartlepool, United Kingdom, and moved to Australia with his parents when he was 16. His father was a policeman. Mallaby's first jobs were signwriting and crayfishing. He was married to Ruth Bass in 1968 and they divorced in 1975. He suffered a stroke in 1994, and subsequently used a wheelchair. He died of congestive heart failure in 2004. He was survived by his widow Lenice, sons Guy and Luke, and daughter Kirsti from his first marriage. Career Mallaby made his acting debut at the Adelaide Festival of Arts, but soon obtained TV roles in Melbourne. The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA), known as ScreenSound Australia from 1999 to 2004, is Australia's audiovisual archive, responsible for developing, preserving, maintaining, promoting and providing access to a national collection of film, television, sound, radio, video games, new media, and related documents and artefacts. The collection ranges from works created in the late nineteenth century when the recorded sound and film industries were in their infancy, to those made in the present day.
