''Outback Opal Hunters'' is an Australian factual television show which follows opal miners across various sites in the Australian states of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. The series is produced by Prospero Productions and began on the Discovery Channel on 8 February 2018. The series has been a ratings success and has been broadcast in over 100 countries including the United Kingdom and United States. The eighth season concluded on 12 May 2022. Premise The series follows opal miners in various locations of Australia as they strive to reach their individually set season target (measured in Australian dollars). ''Jade Fever'' is a Canadian documentary television series from Discovery Channel Canada, produced by Omnifilm Entertainment. The series follows a long-standing jade mining family as they explored and placer-mined nephrite jade in the Dease Lake area of Northern British Columbia while also running a small motel and souvenir business in Jade City. Narrated by Martin Strong, the series debuted in April 2015 and focused on the challenges of a small, family-run jade operation. ''Jade Fever'' was nominated for a 2016 Canadian Screen Award in the "Best Factual Program or Series" category. As of 2021, there have been 7 seasons. The series portrays the real life events of crews aboard commercial fishing vessels in the waters around Tasmania searching for Tasmanian rock lobsters. 10 episodes were produced for Season 1 following 25 fishermen over a 10-week period in 2018. Season 2 was commissioned by Darren Chau for the Discovery Channel and premiered on 16 October 2019 across Foxtel and Sky (New Zealand). Yowah is an outback town and locality in the Shire of Paroo, Queensland, Australia. In the , Yowah had a population of 141 people.
