Sacred Mother Tongue was a four-piece British heavy metal band from Northampton initially formed in 2004. The line up consisted of Darrin South (vocals), Andy James (guitar), Josh Gurner (bass guitar) and Lee Newell (drums). In October 2013, the band decided to split up, citing an inability to reach a larger audience. In 2020, guitarist Andy James joined Five Finger Death Punch as their lead guitarist, replacing long time member Jason Hook. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. Transcend Music, is a British record label and artist management company. Founded in 2007 by Rob Ferguson, they have signed acts such as Malefice and The Dirty Youth. History Transcend Music was founded as Transcend Records in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom in 2007. Initially, the label's main focus was rock and metal, though a wider variety in genre of earlier releases included acid folk and art rock. Darrin South
Darren is a masculine given name of uncertain etymological origins. Some theories state that it originated from an Anglicisation of the Irish first name Darragh or Dáire, meaning "Oak Tree".
