OutQ (Sirius XM)
OutQ was a news, talk radio, talk and entertainment channel on Sirius XM Radio, targeted for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender audiences. The channel was available to Sirius and XM subscribers in both the United States and Canada. Personalities associated with the channel included Frank DeCaro, Doria Biddle, Larry Flick, Lance Bass, Derek Hartley, and Romaine Patterson. Tim Curran served as the channel's news director, with Xorje Olivares as the lead anchor. OutQ News changed its schedule on August 4, 2013, leaving behind its top-of-the-hour format in favor of a daily news review aired at 6pm EST. On November 20, 2006, station founder and show host John McMullen (broadcaster), John McMullen was relieved of his duties. SiriusXM closed down OutQ on February 13, 2016. Larry Flick
Larry Flick is an American journalist, former dance music columnist, single reviewer, and Senior Talent Editor for ''Billboard'' magazine, where he worked for 14 years. Now he produces and hosts Sirius XM radio shows. Flick started in the music business at 21 as a college radio rep at a company called Gold Mountain. He went on the road as a touring assistant to the Power Station and KISS during their 1980s heyday, before starting as a part-time assistant/mail sorter at Billboard. John McMullen (broadcaster)
John McMullen is a radio host, producer, and broadcaster. He has worked for Internet radio broadcasters, founded the GayBC Radio Network, a service for the LGBT community, and operated Sirius Satellite Radio's LGBT radio offering, Sirius OutQ. Career McMullen produced content for RealNetworks, later hosting a radio talk show with co-host Chelle Milleur called Hangin' Out. The show, consisting both of dialogue between the hosts and of interviews with newsmakers, covered topics of interest to the gay community in areas such as politics, world events, sports, fashion, and the arts. Romaine Patterson
Romaine Patterson (born March 31, 1978), is an American LGBT rights activist, radio personality, and author. She first received national attention for her activism at the funeral of murdered gay student Matthew Shepard; the two became friends when Shepard moved to Casper, Wyoming to attend college. For twelve years up until June 2015, she and Derek Hartley co-hosted the ''Derek and Romaine'' show on SiriusXM's OutQ. Patterson and Hartley launched their own independent online streaming network and returned to the air on January 4, 2016, via the show's website. Derek Hartley (born October 28, 1969) is an American talk show host, who co-hosts the weekday paid subscriber-only internet radio show and podcast Derek and Romaine 2.0 and who previously served as co-host of its forerunner ''Derek and Romaine Show,'' a talk radio show that aired on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's Gay/Lesbian channel, OutQ.
