Our Very Own (2005 Film)
''Our Very Own'' is a 2005 American independent coming-of-age drama film directed, co-produced, and written by Cameron Watson. It stars Allison Janney, Cheryl Hines, Jason Ritter, Hilarie Burton, Beth Grant, and Keith Carradine. The film follows five teenagers in Shelbyville, Tennessee whose dreams of a better life have been inspired by the success of the Hollywood actress Sondra Locke. ''Our Very Own'' premiered at the LA Film Festival on June 22, 2005. It had its television premiere on December 11, 2006 and was released on DVD on July 3, 2007. At the 21st Independent Spirit Awards, Janney was nominated for Best Supporting Female for her performance in the film. Faith Prince (born August 6, 1957) is an American actress and singer, best known for her work on Broadway in musical theatre. Mary Badham
Mary Badham (born October 7, 1952) is an American actress who portrayed Jean Louise "Scout" Finch in ''To Kill a Mockingbird'' (1962), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration
The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration (TWHNC), sometimes known as the Celebration, is the largest horse show for the Tennessee Walking Horse breed, and has been held annually in or near Shelbyville, Tennessee since its inception in 1939. The Celebration was conceived by Henry Davis, a horse trainer who along with several other horsemen, felt the Shelbyville area should have a festival or annual event. Although the Celebration was originally held in Wartrace, Tennessee, it moved to Shelbyville, the seat of Bedford County, a few years later. The Celebration spans 11 days and nights in late August and early September annually, and finishes with the crowning of the World Grand Champion Tennessee Walker on the Saturday night before Labor Day.
