"Our Unsung Villains" is a 1956 episode of ''Disneyland'' which originally aired on ABC on February 15, 1956. It was repeated on June 10, 1960. Synopsis The episode has Walt Disney handing over the hosting duties to the Magic Mirror, who promptly decides to do a show devoted to the Disney villains. Hans Conried plays the Magic Mirror from ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' and would reprise the role in many Disney television specials, including the 1977 follow-up episode "Disney's Greatest Villains." In this episode, the Magic Mirror only focuses on four villains, whereas he covers twelve in "Disney's Greatest Villains." Walt Disney Anthology Television Series
The Walt Disney Company has produced an anthology television series since 1954 under several titles and formats. The program's current title, ''The Wonderful World of Disney'', was used from 1969 to 1979 and again from 1991 to the present. The program moved among the Big Three television networks in its first four decades, but has aired on ABC since 1997 and Disney+ since 2020. The original version of the series premiered on ABC in 1954. The show was broadcast weekly on one of the Big Three television networks until 1990, a 36-year span with only a two-year hiatus in 1984–85. The series was broadcast on Sunday for 25 of those years. ''Song of the South'' is a 1946 American Live-action animated film, live-action/animated musical film, musical drama film directed by Harve Foster and Wilfred Jackson; produced by Walt Disney and released by RKO Pictures, RKO Radio Pictures. Synopsis Jonathan Winters stars as a night watchman working late at Walt Disney Studios on Halloween night. He is accompanied by his dog, Peanuts. The night watchman, bitter about working on Halloween night, stumbles upon the prop room at the studio and begins acting out scenes with various props. Eventually, he finds a crystal ball and removes a blanket containing a talking Jack-o'-lantern (also played by Winters). Captain James Hook is a fictional character and the main antagonist of J. M. Barrie's 1904 play ''Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up'' and its various adaptations, in which he is Peter Pan's archenemy. The character is a pirate captain of the brig ''Jolly Roger.'' His two principal fears are the sight of his own blood (supposedly an unnatural colour) and the crocodile who pursues him after eating the hand cut off by Pan. An iron hook replaced his severed hand, which gave the pirate his name. Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear (also spelled Brer Fox and Brer Bear, ) are fictional characters from African-American oral traditions popular in the Southern United States. These characters have been recorded by many different folklorists, but are most well-known from the folktales adapted and compiled by Joel Chandler Harris, featuring his character Uncle Remus. Disney adaptions In the animated sequences of the 1946 Walt Disney-produced film ''Song of the South'' like in the stales, Br'er Fox is the stories' antagonist, while Br'er Bear is his unintelligent accomplice.
