Oumaima El-Bouchti
Oumaima El-Bouchti ( ar, أميمة البوشتي, born 7 October 2000) is a Moroccan taekwondo practitioner. She is a silver medalist at the African Games and the Islamic Solidarity Games. She is also a two-time gold medalist at the African Taekwondo Championships. She represented Morocco at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Career At the 2018 African Taekwondo Championships in Agadir, Morocco, she won the gold medal in the women's 53kg event. She also won one of the bronze medals in the women's 49kg event at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain. In 2019, she competed in the women's bantamweight event at the World Taekwondo Championships held in Manchester, United Kingdom. In that same year, she represented Morocco at the 2019 African Games held in Rabat, Morocco and she won the silver medal in the women's 53kg event. Taekwondo
''Taekwondo'', ''Tae Kwon Do'' or ''Taekwon-Do'' (; ko, 태권도/跆拳道 ) is a Korean form of martial arts involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The literal translation for tae kwon do is "kicking", "punching", and "the art or way of". They are a kind of martial arts in which one attacks or defends with hands and feet anytime or anywhere, with occasional use of weapons. The physical training undertaken in Taekwondo is purposeful and fosters strength of mind through mental armament. Taekwondo practitioners wear a uniform, known as a dobok. The 12th African Games was held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This was the first time that the African Games were hosted by Morocco following the country's readmission to the African Union in January 2017. Bidding process The 12th African Games was schedule in September 2019. Accra, Nairobi and Lusaka announced that they would bid for these Games, but none of them were selected. Malabo, Equatorial Guinea was initially chosen to organise the 2019 African Games at the Second Ordinary Session of the Specialist Technical Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports, which was held at the headquarters of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 13 to 17 June 2016. However, Equatorial Guinea was unable to host the Games due to economic problems. Lusaka, the capital of Zambia was later speculated to host the Games but refused, citing lack of facilities. Morocco At The 2019 African Games
Morocco competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This was the first time that Morocco hosted the competition. It was also the first time since the 1978 All-Africa Games that Morocco took part in the competition after being banned.
