Oulart–The Ballagh GAA
Oulart–The Ballagh is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Wexford, Ireland. The club takes its players primarily from the area around the villages of Oulart and The Ballagh. The club has won the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship on 13 occasions, most recently in 2016. Their main rivals are Buffers Alley. Former hurlers, associated with the club, include former Wexford manager Liam Dunne and current Oulart–The Ballagh senior manager Martin Storey. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Wexford Junior Hurling Championship
The Wexford Junior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Permanent TSB Junior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by lower-tier Wexford GAA clubs. The Wexford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1903. The all-time record-holders are Ferns St Aidan's, who have won the competition five times. Horeswood are the title holders (2021) defeating Kilmore in the Final. History The Wexford Junior Hurling Championship dates back to 1903. It was the second championship to be established in Wexford following the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship in 1889. No competition was held in 1906 or in 1915. Adam Nolan (born 11 March 1987) is an Irish retired boxer from Enniscorthy, County Wexford who qualified for the 2012 Olympics. Boxing career Adam is the second Wexford-born boxer to qualify for the Olympics, the first being his coach on the Irish team, Billy Walsh. He was the fifth Irish boxer to qualify for the 2012 Olympics. He is a club mate at Bray Boxing Club with five-time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Katie Taylor. Desmond Mythen is an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-forward with the Wexford senior team. Shaun Murphy (born 1990) is an Irish hurler who plays for Wexford Senior Championship club Oulart–The Ballagh and at inter-county level with the Wexford senior hurling team. Mick Jacob (born January 1946) is an Irish retired hurling selector and former player who enjoyed a successful career as a centre-back with the Wexford senior team. Born in Wickmore, County Wexford, Jacob was introduced to hurling in his youth. His granduncle, Jim Mythen, was an All-Ireland medal winner with Wexford in 1910. Jacob was just sixteen years-old when he established himself on the Oulart–The Ballagh junior team. A championship medal winner in the junior and intermediate grades, Jacob lost five senior championship finals. Michael Jacob (born 2 August 1980) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays in the centre-forward position on the Wexford senior hurling team. Early life Michael Jacob was born in Oulart, County Wexford in 1980. He was born into a family that had a strong association with Gaelic games, as his father, Mick Jacob, won both Leinster and All-Ireland medals in hurling with Wexford.
