Otto Von Kameke
Otto Werner Henning von Kameke (2 February 1826, Stolp - 8 June 1899, Berlin) was a German painter, a Hauptmann in the Prussian Army and a Knight in the Order of Saint John. He specialized in mountain landscapes. Biography He was born into an old Pomeranian family and was the son of Rittmeister Albert von Kameke (1795–1860), who was also a Squire of Egsow and Kummerzin. Initially, he followed his father into a military career. In 1859, he married Valeska (Wally) von Ferentheil und Gruppenberg (1836-1914), daughter of Oberst Richard von Ferentheil und Gruppenberg, who was also a Squire in Leonhardwitz and Kammelwitz. He was already a Hauptmann when, in 1860, he decided to change careers and become an artist. After resigning his commission, he went to Italy, in the vicinity of Rome, where he spent two years studying nature. He then enrolled at the Grand-Ducal Saxon Art School, Weimar. Alexander Michelis
Alexander Michelis (25 December 1823, in Münster – 23 January 1868, in Weimar) was a German landscape painter. Biography His father, Franz Michelis (1762–1835), was a draftsman and engraver. From 1843 to 1851, he studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under the tutelage of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. While there, he became a member of the Malkasten painters' association and succeeded Hermann Heinrich Becker as its Secretary He spent ten years in Düsseldorf as a free-lance artist, but also gave private art lessons; notably to Princess Marie of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Infanta Antónia of Portugal."Antonia Maria Ferdinanda". The Protestant Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Cemetery (german: Der evangelische Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Friedhof) is a burial ground in the Westend district of Berlin with a size of 3.7 hectares. The cemetery is under monument and cultural heritage protection. The cemetery is located on Fürstenbrunner way, adjacent to the cemetery Luisenfriedhof III and is connected by two paths. History The Protestant Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was established in 1896 due to the growing Lutheran population in West Berlin. Luisen parish gave the congregation of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church a site for the founding of its own cemetery. The inauguration of the cemetery with the first burial took place on 25 July 1896. In 1903 a cemetery chapel was built. The Prussian Academy of Arts (German: ''Preußische Akademie der Künste'') was a state arts academy first established in Berlin, Brandenburg, in 1694/1696 by prince-elector Frederick III, in personal union Duke Frederick I of Prussia, and later king in Prussia.
