Otto Jäger
''Oberleutnant'' Otto Jäger (6 April 1894 – 19 August 1917) was an Austro-Hungarian World War I flying ace credited with seven aerial victories. He entered the war in 1914 as an infantry officer. By mid-1915, he had suffered three serious wounds fighting on the Russian Front, winning the Military Merit Medal, Silver Medal for Bravery, and the German War Service Medal. Invalided from front line service to training duties, Jäger trained as an aerial observer. Posted back to the Russian Front to fly with ''Fliegerkompanie 10'' (Flik 10) in early 1916, Jäger scored his fifth victory on 2 August 1916. He was awarded the Silver Military Merit Medal, the Military Merit Cross, and the German Iron Cross Second Class. After training as a pilot for the rest of 1916, Jäger returned to the Russian Front to score his sixth victory on 20 July 1917. Bohemia
Bohemia ( ; ; ) is the westernmost and largest historical region of the Czech Republic. The Medal for Bravery () () was a military decoration of Austria-Hungary established in 1789 and awarded for bravery in battle until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. Hansa und Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke (more usually just Hansa-Brandenburg) was a German aircraft manufacturing company that operated during World War I. It was created in May 1914 by the purchase of ''Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke'' by Camillo Castiglioni, who relocated the factory from Liebau to Brandenburg an der Havel. Brandenburg's chief designer, Ernst Heinkel was retained by the new enterprise. By Autumn 1915, it had become the largest aircraft manufacturer in Germany, with a capital of 1,500,000 Marks, 1,000 employees, and two more factories - one in Rummelsburg, Berlin, and one in Wandsbek, Hamburg. Although manufacturing was carried out in Germany, Castiglioni was an Austrian, and many of the firm's military aircraft were produced for the Austro-Hungarian aviation corps. Farman Aviation Works
Farman Aviation Works () was a French aircraft company founded and run by the brothers Richard Farman, Richard, Henri Farman, Henri, and Maurice Farman. They designed and constructed aircraft and engines from 1908 until 1936; during the French nationalization and rationalization of its aeronautical industry, Farman's assets were assigned to the SNCAC, ''Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Centre'' (SNCAC). In 1941 the Farman brothers reestablished the firm as the "''Société Anonyme des Usines Farman''" (SAUF), but only three years later it was absorbed by SNCASO, Sud-Ouest. Maurice's son, Marcel Farman, reestablished the SAUF in 1952, but his effort proved unsuccessful and the firm was dissolved in 1956. Karl Urban (aviator)
Karl Urban (29 December 1894 – 12 July 1918) was an Austro-Hungarian World War I flying ace credited with five aerial victories. Urban joined the Austro-Hungarian military as war broke out in 1914, volunteering for pilot's school as soon as he finished recruit training. In mid-July 1915, he was posted to the Russian Front as an aerial reconnaissance and bombing pilot. Between 15 May and 2 August 1916, Urban and his various observers—including Otto Jäger—were credited with four victories. On 28 August 1916, Urban was severely wounded in action but, after recovering, progressed to flying a Phönix D.I, gaining his fifth and final victory on 19 May 1918. Transferred to test pilot duty, Urban was looping a new model Phönix D.I on 12 July 1918, when it shed its wings at 1,500 meters altitude. The subsequent crash killed him.
