Richard Ottaway
Sir Richard Geoffrey James Ottaway (born 24 May 1945) is a British Conservative Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Croydon South from 1992 to 2015. He was previously MP for Nottingham North from 1983 to 1987. Early life Ottaway was born in Sonning, Berkshire. He attended Backwell School, a secondary modern in Backwell, North Somerset, and joined the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth before serving as a Royal Navy officer in 1961-70 as a Lieutenant. Ottaway studied law at Bristol University, graduating in 1974. He qualified as a solicitor in 1977, specialising in maritime and commercial law, and was a partner of William A. Hugh Ottaway
Hugh Ottaway (27 July 1925 – 6 November 1979) was a prominent British writer and lecturer on classical music. Ottaway studied history at Exeter University (then the University of the South-West) from 1944. His career began as a teacher, freelance writer and from the 1950s as a presenter of musical talks on BBC Radio. His most significant contributions to music criticism were as a commentator on that portion of twentieth-century music which retained an allegiance to tonality; thus Nielsen, Shostakovich, Sibelius and William Walton featured largely in his output. John Ottaway
John Ottaway is an English international lawn bowler born on 2 June 1955. Bowls career John began bowling in 1970 aged just 15 and played indoors and outdoors for Wymondham Dell club in Norfolk. He represented England in the fours, at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, New Zealand and the fours at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His greatest moment came when winning the Gold Medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in the Men's fours at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. John became Norfolk bowls president in 2014.
