Ottawa South United is a Canadian semi-professional soccer team based in Manotick, Ontario, a community in the rural south part of Ottawa that plays in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec. The club previously competed in League1 Ontario. In 2020, the club formed a partnership with Canadian Premier League club Atlético Ottawa and as part of the partnership, their PLSQ teams will be known as OSU Atlético. The team is part of the larger Ottawa South United youth soccer club organization. History The club was founded as a youth soccer club in 2003 through a merger between Osgoode – Rideau Soccer Association (founded in 1972) and South Nepean United (founded in 1980). The Première ligue de soccer du Québec (PLSQ) is a semi-professional soccer league created in 2012. The Quebec Soccer Federation operates both men's and women's divisions at the pro-am tier of the Canadian soccer league system. Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Vancouver. They compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The MLS iteration of the club was established on March 18, 2009, and began play in 2011 as the 17th team to enter Major League Soccer while replacing the USSF Division 2 team of the same name in the city, making them a phoenix club and the third to carry the Whitecaps name. Association de Soccer de Blainville, commonly referred to as A.S. Blainville, is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in the Montreal suburb of Blainville, Quebec, that plays in the Première ligue de soccer du Québec. They are the only club to have participated in every season of the PLSQ. History The club was founded in 1986. Quebec Soccer Federation
Soccer Quebec (formerly (french: Fédération Québécoise de Soccer FQS) or the Quebec Soccer Federation (QSF)) is the governing body for soccer in the Canadian province of Quebec. The QSF is one of thirteen provincial and territorial federations members of the Canadian Soccer Association. It is headquartered in Laval. This federation was founded in 1911 and adopted its current name in 2000. On June 10, 2013, the Canadian Soccer Association suspended the Quebec Soccer Federation over its refusal to let turban-wearing children play. Quebec's premier Pauline Marois announced her support of the Quebec Soccer Federation's ban and suggested that the CSF has no authority over provincial organizations. Ottawa Fury Academy
Ottawa Fury FC Academy was the youth academy and development system of Canadian soccer club Ottawa Fury FC. In 2015 and 2016, they played in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec. History The Fury Academy was launched in 2006, under the umbrella of the original Ottawa Fury. At its peak, the Ottawa Fury FC Academy had more than 20 teams of various age levels, among both genders, with the aim of developing players for both its professional squad and women's team. The Academy works with community clubs in the Ottawa area to identify high-potential players, in addition to holding open tryouts. During their early years, they faced some unexpected pushback from other local minor soccer groups competing for youth players.
