Otoyol 33, O-33 or North Aegean Motorway ( tr, Kuzey Ege Otoyolu) and abbreviated as the O-33 is a long toll motorway in western Turkey.Beginning at an intersection with İzmir Beltway, the O-33 runs north from Çiğli to Bergama and parallels the D550 for most of its route. History On 15 February 2017 the tender to construct the motorway was awarded to a consortium of three companies, IC İçdaş, Kalyon and Astaldi. Like other otoyol projects in Turkey, the tender was awarded under a build-operate-transfer contract until 2027. Çiğli (''Silleon'' in Greek) is a metropolitan district of İzmir in western Turkey. It covers the northern end of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality around the mouth of the River Gediz, across the Gulf of İzmir from the main city. YeniÅŸakran is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of AliaÄŸa, Ä°zmir Province, Turkey. Its population is 5,766 (2022). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde''). Aliağa is a town and a district of Izmir Province in the Aegean Region of Turkey. The town is situated at about north of Izmir. Aliağa has a large port, mainly for oil and bulk cargo. Otoyol 30 ( en, Motorway 30), also known as the Izmir Beltway ( tr, İzmir Çevreyolu) and abbreviated as the O-30, is a long motorway that runs around the Gulf of Izmir from Balçova to Menemen. Otoyol 22 ( en, Motorway 22), abbreviated as O-22 and also known as Bursa–Sivrihisar Otoyolu ( en, Bursa–Sivrihisar Motorway), is a partly completed motorway in Turkey that will connect Bursa and Ankara in the future. The motorway starts at the ÇaÄŸlayan intersection ( O-5) and currently ends near YeniÅŸehir at the State road D200.
