Otogar (Istanbul Metro)
Otogar is a rapid transit station on the M1 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located in southwestern Bayrampaşa in the center of the Esenler Bus Terminal. Otogar was opened on 31 January 1994 as part of the M1's extension to Zeytinburnu. The station has three tracks with two island platforms and is one of only five stations in the metro system to have such a layout, the others being Yenikapı, Bostancı, Sanayi and Olimpiyat. West of Otogar the M1 splits into M1A and M1B service. Istanbul Metro
The Istanbul Metro ( tr, İstanbul metrosu) is a rapid transit railway network that serves the city of Istanbul, Turkey. It is operated by Metro Istanbul, a company (formerly known as ''İstanbul Ulaşım A.Ş.'' before 2016), a public enterprise, controlled by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The oldest section of the metro is the M1 line, which opened in 1989; it now includes 111 stations in service, with 100 more under construction. Kirazlı (Istanbul Metro)
Kirazlı, or Kirazlı-Bağcılar, is an underground rapid transit complex of the Istanbul Metro and is serviced by lines M1B and M3. Kirazlı opened on 14 June 2013 as the southern terminus of the M3 line and eastern terminus of the M1B line. Since the M3 is considered a "continuation" of the M1B, passengers can transfer between these two lines for free. Kirazlı is the only station that offers free transfer in Istanbul. The station was inaugurated with a large ceremony in which officials from the Istanbul Municipality and Istanbul Ulaşım took part. Yenikapı Transfer Center ( tr, Yenikapı Aktarma Merkezi), referred to as Yenikapı, is an underground transportation complex in Istanbul. It is located in south-central Fatih in the neighborhood of Yenikapı, hence the name of the hub. The complex is right next to the, indefinitely closed, Yenikapı railway station and a short walk away from the Yenikapı Ferry Terminal and İDO ferry service. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. The M3, officially referred to as the M3 Kirazli–Basaksehir Metro Line ( tr, M3 Kirazlı-Başakşehir Metro Hattı), is a , 9-station rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro system on the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. It operates between Bağcılar, Kirazlı-Bağcılar, extending the service of the M1 (Istanbul), M1B line from Yenikapı, to Başakşehir-Metrokent. Atatürk Havalimanı (Istanbul Metro)
Atatürk Havalimanı is the western terminal station on the M1A line of the Istanbul Metro. The station services Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul, which was the primary international gateway in Turkey. Atatürk Havalimanı was opened on 20 December 2002, along with DTM—İstanbul Fuar Merkezi, when the M1A (then just ''M1'') was extended west of Yenibosna to the airport. The station is located next to the international terminal and is linked to the domestic terminal via a walkway. As a result of the closing of Atatürk International Airport for commercial passenger traffic and its replacement by a new airport northwest of the city in April 2019, the station no longer receives passenger traffic.
