Otilia Bădescu, born 31 October 1970 in Bucharest, Romania, is a former Romanian table tennis player. Table tennis career From 1986 to 2005 she won several medals in singles, doubles, and team events in the Table Tennis European Championships and three medals in the World Table Tennis Championships. Her three World Championship medals were all bronze medals won in the singles, team event and mixed doubles with Kalinikos Kreanga. Otilia Cazimir (pen name of Alexandra Gavrilescu; February 12, 1894 – June 8, 1967) was a Romanian poet, prose writer, translator and publicist, nicknamed the "poetess of gentle souls", known as a children's poems author. Biography Origins and early work Born in Cotu Vameș, Neamț County, she was the fifth child of schoolteachers Gheorghe Gavrilescu and his wife Ecaterina (''née'' Petrovici). She attended middle and high school in Iași and took courses at the University of Iași's literature and philosophy faculty, but did not graduate. Otilia Larrañaga Villarreal (3 November 1931 – 6 October 2021) was a Mexican dancer and actress who participated in classic Mexican films during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and also on stage and television. Biography Larrañaga studied dance with her uncle Ignacio Larrañaga and later ballet with Lettie H. Carroll. From 1947 to 1950, she was a member of Carroll's dance group and participated in the seasons of the Palacio de Bellas Artes' National Opera in Mexico City. A notable dancer by the time she was 15, she began her film career in the early 1950s with small roles in ''Secretaria particular'' (1952) and ''No te ofendas, Beatriz'' (1953). Otilia Lux de Cotí is a Guatemalan social leader and politician. She was a member of that country's Historical Clarification Commission, charged with investigating the human rights violations committed during the Central American nation's 30-year-long civil war. Plácido Otilia Family
The Plácido Otilia family is a Mexican family which specializes in the making of traditional musical instruments for the Huapango music of the La Huasteca region.(grandes) The family lives in Texquitote, Matlapa, San Luis Potosí and headed by patriarch Eustacio Plácido Otilia, an ethnic Nahua. The family produces mostly string instruments such as violins, jaranas, tiny guitars called mosquitos, ravelitos and quintas, known for the quality of the sound. They are particularly known for their charangos, a guitar like instrument backed by an armadillo shell. Eustacio Plácido Otilia learned the craft from his father and has continued the tradition, teaching generations of his family as well as others in the community, giving classes at the local Juan Sarabia School.
