Otema Allimadi
Erifasi Otema Allimadi (11 February 1929 – 5 August 2001) was a Ugandan politician who served as the country's Foreign Minister (1979–1980) in the UNLF government and later on as the country's third Prime Minister of Uganda (1980–1985) in the UPC government. After the ousting of the regime, he fled the country before returning to Uganda. Biography In the government of President Godfrey Binaisa from June 20, 1979, to May 11, 1980, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs. After Paulo Muwanga's transitional governments and a three-member presidential commission, he was then appointed prime minister by newly elected President Milton Obote on December 18, 1980. He retained that office until the fall of Obote by Lieutenant General Bazilio Olara Okello on July 27, 1985. Allimadi had 17 children. Alliance For National Transformation
The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), founded on 19 March 2019, is a political party in Uganda. Background The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) was the leading opposition party in Uganda during the 2000s and 2010s. On three consecutive occasions, during the presidential elections in 2006, 2011 and 2016, the party fielded retired Colonel Doctor Kizza Besigye, as the party's flag-bearer against the ruling National Resistance Movement's candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Dr Besigye lost the contest, on each occasion. Milton Obote
Apollo Milton Obote (28 December 1925 – 10 October 2005) was a Ugandan political leader who led Uganda to independence from British colonial rule in 1962. Following the nation's independence, he served as prime minister of Uganda from 1962 to 1966 and the second president of Uganda from 1966 to 1971, then again from 1980 to 1985. He founded the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) in 1960, which played a key role in securing Uganda's independence from the United Kingdom in 1962. He then became the country's prime minister in a coalition with the Kabaka Yekka movement/party, whose leader King Mutesa II was named president. Due to a rift with Mutesa over the 1964 Ugandan lost counties referendum and later getting implicated in a gold smuggling scandal, Obote overthrew him in 1966 and declared himself president, establishing a dictatorial regime with the UPC as the only official party. Paulo Muwanga
Paulo Frobisher Muwanga Seddugge Muyanja (4 April 1924 – 1 April 1991) was a Ugandan politician who served briefly as ''de facto'' president, and later as prime minister, of Uganda. Career Paulo Frobisher Muwanga Seddugge Muyanja was born in Uganda on 4 April 1924. He joined the East African Posts and Telecommunications Administration (1943–50) before entering politics in 1950. He served as a member of Parliament from 1962 to 1964, before becoming ambassador to Egypt (1964–70) and France (1970–72). He was then in exile in England from 1972 to 1978, before returning to fight in the Uganda–Tanzania War (1978–9). He served briefly as minister of internal affairs, first under Yusuf Lule and then under Godfrey Binaisa. Binaisa attempted to have Muwanga demoted to an ambassador in February 1980, but Muwanga appealed directly to the National Consultative Commission.
