Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 37.9 square miles (98.1 km), of which 37.8 square miles (98.0 km) is land and 0.04 square mile (0.1 km) (0.05%) is water. Oswayo Township is bordered by New York to the north, Genesee Township to the south, Allegany Township and the borough of Oswayo to the south and Sharon Township to the west. Geography Oswayo is located at (41.921171, -78.018160). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of , all land. Climate History Oswayo was incorporated on January 8, 1901 and named for the Township. The Oswayo Valley had one of the best white pine stands in Pennsylvania. The name is the English derivative of the Seneca word "O-sa-ayeh", meaning pine forest.
