Oswald Littler
Oswald Littler (15 February 1907 – 21 January 1970) was an English professional footballer who played as an inside-forward for various clubs in the 1920s and 1930s. Football career Littler was born in Billinge, near St Helens and played football as an amateur with various clubs including Skelmersdale United of the Liverpool County Football Combination and Northwich Victoria in the Cheshire County League while working as a payroll clerk in a Lancashire colliery. His first professional contract came when he joined Rochdale of the Football League Third Division North in July 1928. A year later, he moved to the south coast to join Southampton of the Second Division on trial, before being signed in August 1929. He made his debut for the Saints when he took the place of the injured Jerry Mackie at inside-right for the home match against Chelsea on 21 September 1929. Billinge is a village within the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens, Merseyside, England. It forms the larger part of the civil parish of Billinge Chapel End. Lancashire ( , ; abbreviated Lancs) is the name of a historic county, ceremonial county, and non-metropolitan county in North West England. The boundaries of these three areas differ significantly. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them. William Fraser (born 1903, date of death unknown) was an English professional association football, footballer who played at inside forward for Northampton Town F.C., Northampton Town and Southampton F.C., Southampton in the 1920s and 1930s. Football career Early career Fraser was born in Cowpen, near Blyth, Northumberland and played for Blyth Spartans F.C., Blyth Spartans as a junior. He then had a spell in the Army, with the Royal Tank Corps before starting his professional career with Northampton Town F.C., Northampton Town in November 1926. Arthur Chadwick
Arthur Chadwick (July 1875 – 21 March 1936) was a professional footballer whose playing career as a centre-half included spells at Portsmouth and Southampton, before going on to be manager at Exeter City, Reading and Southampton. He also made two appearances for England in 1900. Playing career Chadwick was born in Church, Lancashire and started his career playing in his native county for Accrington and Burton Swifts. When he signed for Southampton in May 1897, little was known about him. He travelled to Southampton for a trial accompanied by Bob Brown of Burton Wanderers.
