The Osmington shooting was a familicide in Osmington, Western Australia, on 11 May 2018, in which Peter Miles, a 61-year-old retired high school farm manager, shot dead his wife, daughter, and four grandchildren, before calling police and then committing suicide. It is the worst shooting incident in Australia since the Port Arthur massacre of 1996. Background Peter Miles worked in the farm school at Margaret River Senior High School for twenty years. In 2015, he and his wife Cynda moved from the Margaret River townsite to a hobby farm in Osmington.
