Osmaci
Osmaci ( Serbian: Осмаци) is a village and a municipality located in eastern Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, it has a population of 6,016 inhabitants. There is also a small, uninhabited, part of Osmaci that is in Kalesija municipality. History The municipality was created from part of the territory of the pre-war municipality of Kalesija that was assigned to Republika Srpska by the Dayton Agreement. The rest of the Kalesija municipality is in the Federation. Hajvazi
Hajvazi ( sr-cyrl, Хајвази) is a village in the municipality of Osmaci, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mass grave In Hajvazi on 20 September 2012, the International Commission on Missing Persons uncovered a mass grave containing the remains of eight Bosnian Muslim individuals, seven men and one woman killed by Serbs in November 1992 during the Bosnian War. The victims were piled atop of each other. Their remains were exhumed from the mass grave, which was located in the yard of a private house. The exhumation concluded on 27 September 2012 and the remains were transported to the Commemorative Centre in Tuzla for forensic testing and DNA analysis to determine the identity of the victims. Following the discovery of the eight victims, there are still an additional 30 Bosnian Muslim victims from the Osmaci area that remain missing. Kalesija
Kalesija ( sr-cyrl, Калесија) is a town and municipality located in Tuzla Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, east of Tuzla. As of 2013, the town has a population of 2,039 inhabitants, and the municipality has 33,053 inhabitants. Under the "Law on Territorial Organization and Local Self-Government" adopted in 1994, Republika Srpska was divided into 80 municipalities. Zvornik
Zvornik ( sr-cyrl, Зворник, ) is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in Republika Srpska, on the left bank of the Drina river. In 2013, it had a population of 58,856 inhabitants. The town of Mali Zvornik ("Little Zvornik") lies directly across the river in Serbia. Kula Grad, a village that is part of Zvornik municipality, has a Middle Age fort, Zvornik fortress, built in the 12th century. History Zvornik is first mentioned in 1410, although it was known as ''Zvonik'' ("bell tower") at that time. Crni Vrh Mass Grave
The Crni Vrh mass grave, discovered in 2003, is among the largest mass graves found in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the Bosnian War of the 1990s. It was discovered on the mountain Crni Vrh, and contained the remains of 629 Bosniak victims, killed by Serb forces in the villages surrounding Zvornik in 1992 and Srebrenica in 1995. The International Commission on Missing Persons said that the victims had originally been buried in other locations, but were reburied in the remote grave on Crni Vrh after the war in an effort to conceal the crimes. Bosnian War
The Bosnian War ( sh, Rat u Bosni i Hercegovini / Рат у Босни и Херцеговини) was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995.
