Osisioma Ngwa is a Local Government Areas of Nigeria, Local Government Area of Abia State, Abia state of Nigeria. Its headquarters are located in Osisioma town. It has an area of and a population of 219,632 as per 2006 census data of Nigeria. Origin of name The name "Osisi" means ''tree'', ''plant'' or ''wood'' and the name "Oma", means ''good'', ''fine'', ''beautiful'' in the Igbo language. Thus, Osisioma means: ''good tree'' or ''fine plant'' or ''beautiful wood''. It is a name associated with tree and beauty which is derived from the popular ornamental flower tree called ''Delonix regia'', a species of flowering plant in the bean family Fabaceae, and subfamily Caesalpinioideae. It is noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of flowers. Aba, Abia
Aba is a city in the southeast of Nigeria and the commercial center of Abia State. Upon the creation of Abia state in 1991, Aba was divided into two local government areas namely; Aba South and Aba North. Aba south is the main city centre and the heartbeat of Abia State, south-east Nigeria. It is located on the Aba River. Aba is made up of many villages such as; Aba-Ukwu, Eziukwu-Aba, Obuda-Aba, Umuokpoji-Aba and other villages from Ohazu merged due to administrative convenience. Aba was established by the Ngwa clan of Igbo People of Nigeria as a market town and then later a military post was placed there by the British colonial administration in 1901. Abia State ( ig, Ȯha Abia) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, it is bordered to the north and northeast by the states of Enugu, and Ebonyi, Imo State to the west, Cross River State to the east, Akwa Ibom State to the southeast, and Rivers State to the south. Ukwa West is a Local Government Area in Abia State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Oke Ikpe. It has an area of 271 km2 and a population of 88,555 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 452. Ukwa west is bounded to the north by Osisioma local government area, to the north-east by Ugwunagbo local government area and to the east by Ukwa East local government area, all in Abia State. It is also bounded to west by Omuma local government area, to the south-west by Etche local government area, and to the south by Oyigbo local government area, all in Rivers State. Ngwa High School
Ngwa High School is a secondary school for boys in Aba. It located in Abayi, a town in Osisioma Ngwa. History The school was established in 1954 with 29 boys. The school was supposed to be in Umuocham but was relocated to Abayi due to the school land been taken off from the school authority. The school was run through donations from individuals in Ngwa Land. The first principal was Rev W. G. Pollard, a British who served from 1954 to 1960. Afterwards, an African principal S. I.
