Osip-Roman Iyosafatovych Sorokhtei (Ukrainian: Осип-Роман Йосафатович Сорохтей; 28 February 1890, near Baranyvtsy, Sambir Raion – 28 November 1941, in Ivano-Frankivsk) was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, caricaturist and art teacher. Biography His father was a Czech laborer who came to Galicia working on the railway. His mother was Polish. The Art Museum of Prykarpattia ( uk, Музей мистецтв Прикрапаття, originally called the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Art Museum, until 2012) is a regional art museum that is located in the Church of Virgin Mary in Ivano-Frankivsk. It has one of the best collections of local religious art. It is the only art museum in the region and specializes in displaying works by local artists.
