Osea Island
Osea Island ( oe, Ōsgȳþes īeg, "Osyth's island"), formerly also Osey, is an inhabited island in the estuary of the River Blackwater, Essex, East England. It is approximately in size and is connected to the north bank of the river by a causeway, covered at high water. The population of the Island is included in the civil parish of Heybridge. Northey Island lies about a mile to the west and Mersea Island is about five miles to the north east. The entire island is owned by music producer Nigel Frieda. Notable residents Before 2004, the island had a small community of tenants such as the painter Luke Elwes, photographer Hélène Binet, and philosopher David Papineau. Severe Tropical Cyclone Osea was the second of seven cyclones to affect French Polynesia during the 1997–98 South Pacific cyclone season. The fourth tropical cyclone and second severe tropical cyclone of the very active season, Osea began as a low that formed on November 22, and the storm initially remained weak. Moving south and later east, it was named Osea on November 24 after achieving windspeeds equal to a Category 1 cyclone on the Australian tropical cyclone intensity scale. Continuing to intensify, Osea soon reached its peak intensity of . Afterwards, Osea began to weaken because of increased wind shear, and the cyclone started moving southeast. By November 28, Osea was no longer a tropical cyclone. The cyclone brought major damage to some islands in French Polynesia. Hudson Taylor was an Irish folk/Americana duo formed in 2011, who split up in 2022. The line up consisted of brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor, who were signed to Rubyworks Records. History Early career The multi-instrumental siblings began busking on the streets of their hometown of Dublin as well as cities all over Europe. Their self-released debut EP ''Battles'' came out in August 2012 and peaked at #1 on the Irish iTunes chart and at #14 in the UK.
