Oscar Teale
Oscar Schutte Teale (September 9, 1847 - April 8, 1934) was an American architect, magician and writer. Biography Teale was born in New York City. He worked as an architect by trade and was interested in magic. He was the fourth President of the Society of American Magicians. He worked as a private secretary for magician Harry Houdini. He wrote a series of articles on magic and debunking spiritualism in the '' Sphinx'' magazine in 1925. In July 1925 it was alleged that Houdini and Teale visited the offices of Houdina Radio Control and damaged most of the furniture by smashing them against the floor and walls. Houdini had accused the company of using his name unlawfully. A summons for disorderly conduct was issued against Houdini but the charges were dropped because George Young the manager failed to appear in court. Exedra
An exedra (plural: exedras or exedrae) is a semicircular architectural recess or platform, sometimes crowned by a semi-dome, and either set into a building's façade or free-standing. The original Greek sense (''ἐξέδρα'', a seat out of doors) was applied to a room that opened onto a stoa, ringed with curved high-backed stone benches, a suitable place for conversation. An exedra may also be expressed by a curved break in a colonnade, perhaps with a semicircular seat. The exedra would typically have an apsidal podium that supported the stone bench. The free-standing (open air) exedra, often supporting bronze portrait sculpture, is a familiar Hellenistic structure, characteristically sited along sacred ways or in open places in sanctuaries, such as at Delos or Epidaurus. Machpelah Cemetery (Queens)
Machpelah Cemetery is a Judaism, Jewish List of Jewish cemeteries in New York City, cemetery located within the Cemetery Belt in Glendale, Queens, in the U.S. state of New York (state), New York. It was established around 1855. In addition to managing the cemetery, the former Machpelah Cemetery Association also managed the adjacent Union Field Cemetery, New Union Field Cemetery and Hungarian Union Field Cemetery. Houdina Radio Control Co. was a radio equipment firm that was founded by Francis P Houdina, an electrical engineer in the U.S. Army. Francis P Houdina was a fictitious name created by one of two young men from Kaukauna Wisc that built the Radio driven Chandler from Achen motor Co . They also created the false representation of being in the Army. Radio-operated automobile Francis P Houdina developed a radio-operated automobile.
