Oscar León Navas (born April 4, 1974) is a Colombian former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2011. He challenged for the WBA featherweight title in 2003, as the WBA and WBC interim featherweight titles in 2003 and 2006, respectively. Joe Louis Arena was an arena in Downtown Detroit. Completed in 1979 at a cost of US$57 million as a replacement for Olympia Stadium, it sat adjacent to TCF Center, Cobo Center on the bank of the Detroit River and was accessible by the Joe Louis Arena station on the Detroit People Mover. Vernon Paris (born January 5, 1988) is an American professional boxer who fights at light welterweight. He had three fights result in no contests because he tested positive for marijuana at the post-fight drug tests. Personal life Paris grew up in Detroit, Michigan as a troubled youth. He was involved with gangs and committed petty crimes, which culminated in a shooting on the city's northwest side on the evening of July 25, 2006. Paris was shot three times: in the back, thigh, and groin. As a result of this attempted murder, he still has a bullet lodged in his back and thigh.
