Oscar Hold
Oscar Hold (19 October 1918 – 11 October 2005), was an English former footballer and manager, was born in Carlton, near Leeds, England. Hold played for Everton F.C. and Norwich City F.C. He became manager of Doncaster Rovers in 1962, taking over from Danny Malloy, and also managed Turkish champion Fenerbahçe SK on (1964–65), with whom he won the Turkish League title and Atatürk Cup titles. Then he trained the Saudi Al-Ahli club in Jeddah and won four titles, including the league title three times with two different names (General League Shield, King's Cup League) in 1968, 1970 and 1971 and the Saudi Crown Prince Cup in 1970. Carlton, Rothwell
Carlton is a village in the south of the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England, about 6 miles (13 km) from Leeds city centre. Geography Carlton has a Wakefield WF3 postal address. Carlton was previously part of Rothwell Urban District. Today it sits in the Rothwell ward of Leeds City Council and Elmet and Rothwell parliamentary constituency. It is celebrated for its rhubarb growing, and is at the centre of the Rhubarb Triangle. Due to Carlton's rhubarb growing and farming heritage, the area has seen a recent influx of Eastern European migrants, who make a living working on the numerous farms. A sports coach is a person coaching in sport, involved in the direction, instruction and training of a sports team or athlete. History The original sense of the word ''coach'' is that of a horse-drawn carriage, deriving ultimately from the Hungarian city of Kocs where such vehicles were first made. Students at the University of Oxford in the early nineteenth century used the slang word to refer to a private tutor who would drive a less able student through his examinations just like horse driving. The Atatürk Cup was a football competition in Turkey. The first edition was played between the winners of the Prime Minister's Cup and the Presidential Cup in 1998 to memorialize the 60th anniversary of Atatürk's death. Fenerbahçe defeated Beşiktaş 2–0.The second and last edition of the tournament was played as a de facto Super Cup in 2000. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. The league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 20th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years.
