Oscar Hauge
Oscar L. Hauge (September 17, 1868—June 23, 1945) was an American politician. He served in the Minnesota Legislature in 1911 and 1912 and then served on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors from 1938 until 1944. Biography Hauge was born on a Minnesota farm on September 17, 1868. He was mayor of Long Beach, Calif., from 1927 to 1930. On December 1, 1938, he was appointed to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Leland M. Ford, who had just been elected to the United States Congress. He served until 1944. Hauge's membership in the KKK was not known to the public while he was in office, but his KKK membership medal and ribbon remains in the Long Beach Library vault. Minnesota Legislature
The Minnesota Legislature is the bicameral legislature of the U.S. state of Minnesota consisting of two houses: the Senate and the House of Representatives. Senators are elected from 67 single-member districts. In order to account for decennial redistricting, members run for one two-year term and two four-year terms each decade. They are elected for four-year terms in years ending in 2 and 6, and for two-year terms in years ending in 0. Representatives are elected for two-year terms from 134 single-member districts formed by dividing the 67 senate districts in half. Heart Attack
A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Often it occurs in the center or left side of the chest and lasts for more than a few minutes. The discomfort may occasionally feel like heartburn. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, nausea, feeling faint, a cold sweat or feeling tired. About 30% of people have atypical symptoms. This is a list of mayors of Long Beach, California. The current mayor is Rex Richardson who has been in office since December 20, 2022. He is the first black person to hold the position. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (LACBOS) is the five-member governing body of Los Angeles County, California, United States. History On April 1, 1850 the citizens of Los Angeles elected a three-man Court of Sessions as their first governing body. A total of 377 votes were cast in this election. In 1852, the Legislature dissolved the Court of Sessions and created a five-member Board of Supervisors. In 1913 the citizens of Los Angeles County approved a charter recommended by a board of freeholders which gave the County greater freedom to govern itself within the framework of state law.
