Oscar Albayalde
Oscar David Albayalde (; born November 8, 1963) is a retired Filipino police officer who served as the Chief of the Philippine National Police from April 2018 until his optional retirement in October 2019. Early life and education Albayalde was born on November 8, 1963, in San Fernando, Pampanga, the son of Philippine Air Force retired master sergeant Fidel S. Albayalde and Consolacion David. He studied at the University of the Assumption in San Fernando, Pampanga for two years, from 1980 to 1982, and then entered the Philippine Military Academy, because of the influence of his father. At the PMA, Albayalde had a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated cum laude on March 22, 1986, after constantly landing in the dean, academic and superintendent's lists. Rodel M. Batocabe (April 25, 1966 – December 22, 2018) was a Filipino lawyer, politician, and member of the Ako Bicol Political Party (AKB). Batocabe served in the House of Representatives of the Philippines for three terms from 2010 until his murder in office on December 22, 2018, at a gift-giving event for senior citizens in the village of Burgos, Daraga municipality, Albay. Batocabe was the first sitting member of the House of Representatives to be killed during the administration of Rodrigo Duterte, but he was the 21st Filipino official to be murdered since Duterte's tenure began in 2016. 2017 Resorts World Manila Attack
The Resorts World Manila attack was an attack that took place at the then-Resorts World Manila (now Newport World Resorts) entertainment complex in Newport City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Thirty-eight were killed and seventy were injured when a gunman caused a stampede after he set fire to casino tables and slot machine chairs around midnight on June 2, 2017. The gunman moved to a storage area to steal casino chips from the venue, but later committed suicide following a confrontation with the responding police.
