Osamu Kobayashi (animation Director)
is a Japanese animator and animation director, best known for ''Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel''. He was born in Fuchuu-shi, Tokyo. He belongs to Ajia-do Animation Works. In 1963, he entered Toei Animation at the same time as Tsutomu Shibayama and Hayao Miyazaki. He was a chief animator working with Shibayama after having transferred to a A Production (predecessor to Shin-Ei Animation). He established Ajia-do Animation Works with Shibayama in 1978. Creamy Mami, The Magic Angel
is a magical girl anime television series produced by Pierrot which aired from 1983 to 1984 on Nippon Television. It went on to have four OVA adaptions and featured in other Studio Pierrot special presentations. A three-volume manga was released during the original TV run, with the story written by Kazunori Itō and art by Yuuko Kitagawa. This was the first magical girl anime to be produced by Pierrot, and the first original work from the studio. In 2005, the web poll for TV Asahi's top-100 anime of all time saw ''Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel'' poll 82nd. is a Japanese anime that was broadcast from 2 April 1985 to 4 February 1986 with a total of 78 episodes produced. This anime is based on the 1902 novel ''Five Children and It'' by English author Edith Nesbit. The anime differs from the novel in revolving around four children rather than five.
