Orogwe
Orogwe is a community in Owerri West local government of Imo state in Nigeria. History Orogwe is a member of the famous and legendary Umuoha Ofo Ise autonomous community; one of the five sons of the legend Oha in the then Igbo land of eastern Nigeria. Culture and landmarks The spoken language is Igbo and the population is predominantly Christian. The Onitcha-Owerri express road cuts across the community 7 km before the famous control-post roundabout in Owerri Municipal. Owerri West
Owerri West is a Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Umuguma. Owerri West Local Government is administered under the terms of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Elections to the office of the Chairman of the local government are held through nominations by registered political parties as stipulated by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, under the supervision of Imo State Electoral Commission. Ndegwu
Ndegwu is a community in the Owerri West Local Government area of Imo State. The community is subdivided into five villages which includes; Umuekerekpu, Umuahum, Umuezu, Umuomara and Umuogwuta. Each of these villages has at least eight kindreds. Ndegwu is bounded by the east by Orogwe, west by Okwukwu, north by Amakohia ubi and south by Irete. Religion and Demographics The people are predominantly Christians with a majority being Anglican or Catholic with a few Pentecostal Christians and pagans. Ndegwu people are hard working and heart warming people who value education to its core. The people are mostly farmers and business men who earn a living through that means. Igbo Language
Igbo ( , ; Igbo: ''Ásụ̀sụ́ Ìgbò'' ) is the principal native language cluster of the Igbo people, a meta-ethnicity from Southeastern Nigeria. The number of Igboid languages depends on how one classifies a language versus a dialect, so there could be around 15 different Igboid languages. The core Igbo cluster or Igbo proper is generally thought to be one language but there is limited mutual intelligibility between the different groupings (north, west, south and east). A standard literary language termed 'Igbo izugbe' (meaning "general igbo") was generically developed and later adopted around 1972, with its core foundation based on the Owerri (Isuama), Anambra (Awka) and Umuahia (Ohuhu) dialects, omitting the nasalization and aspiration of those varieties.
