Orlyval is a light metro shuttle service at Paris's Orly Airport using the Véhicule Automatique Léger (VAL, English: ''automatic light vehicle)'' driverless, rubber-tyred people mover technology. The line, which opened on 2 October 1991, offers free service between the two airport terminal stations, and premium fare service to Antony station, where passengers can connect to the city's RER B trains. Orlyval is the second line to use the VAL technology after the Lille Metro. The line was financed and initially operated by private companies including Matra, the company that developed the VAL technology, along with several international developers. The line was a commercial failure and the operators went bankrupt. RATP Group, the transportation operator for the Paris region, took over the line in 1992. Air Inter (Lignes Aériennes Intérieures) was a semi-public French domestic airline. Paris-Saclay is a research-intensive and business cluster currently under construction in the south of Paris, France. It encompasses research facilities, two French major universities with higher education institutions (''grandes écoles'') and also research centers of private companies. In 2013, the Technology Review put Paris-Saclay in the top 8 world research clusters. In 2014, it comprised almost 15% of French scientific research capacity. Paris Métro Line 18
Paris Métro Line 18 is a planned line of the metropolitan network of Paris. It will be an automatic metro line with an adapted gauge of the Grand Paris Express. 35 kilometers long, it will initially link Orly Airport to Versailles via Massy – Palaiseau, the Saclay plateau and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Subsequently, it would be extended by about 15 kilometers from Versailles to Nanterre via Rueil-Malmaison. It should be completed after 2030. Grand Paris Express is a group of new rapid transit lines being built in the Île-de-France region of France. The project comprises four new lines for Paris Métro, plus extensions of existing Lines 11 and 14. A total of of new track and 68 new stations are to be added, serving a projected 2 million passengers a day. The new lines were originally indexed by colour (Red Line, Pink Line, Green Line), but this changed in 2013 to continue the numbering convention that the RATP uses. An exit fare is a method of collecting ridership fees, or fares, from a transportation system, where the fee (or part of the fee) is collected from passengers upon reaching their destination.
