Orlando Gómez
Juan Alejandro "Orlando" Gómez Tossas (born June 24, 1946) is a Puerto Rican former Major League Baseball coach and scout and minor league catcher and manager. When he served as the pilot of the Rookie-level GCL Orioles of the Gulf Coast League; it was Gómez' 21st year as a minor league manager, his 12th straight season in the Baltimore Orioles' organization, his second tour of duty (and third season overall) as skipper of the GCL Orioles, and his 53rd consecutive year in professional baseball. Gómez retired from baseball after the 2016 season; his 278 managerial wins set a franchise record for the Frederick Keys, Baltimore's Single A–Advanced farm system affiliate in the Carolina League. In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the starting lineup and batting order, decides how to substitute players during the game, and makes strategy decisions. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Rubén Angel Sierra García (born October 6, 1965) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder. Sierra goes by the nicknames ''El Caballo'' and ''El Indio''. Robert Paul Melvin (born October 28, 1961) is an American former professional baseball player and coach, who is the manager of the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has been named Manager of the Year three times. Selected in the first round, second overall by the Detroit Tigers in the secondary phase of the 1981 draft, Melvin was a catcher for the Tigers, San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Chicago White Sox during a 10-year playing career from 1985 through 1994. Retrosheet is a nonprofit organization whose website features box scores of Major League Baseball (MLB) games from 1906 to the present, and play-by-play narratives for almost every contest since the 1930s. Bullpen
In baseball, the bullpen (or simply the pen) is the area where relief pitchers warm up before entering a game. A team's roster of relief pitchers is also metonymically referred to as "the bullpen". These pitchers usually wait in the bullpen if they have not yet played in a game, rather than in the dugout with the rest of the team. The starting pitcher also makes their final pregame warm-up throws in the bullpen. Managers can call coaches in the bullpen on an in-house telephone from the dugout to tell a certain pitcher to begin their warm-up tosses. Each team generally has its own bullpen consisting of two pitching rubbers and plates at regulation distance from each other. In most Major League Baseball parks, the bullpens are situated out-of-play behind the outfield fence. Larry Rothschild
Lawrence Lee Rothschild (born March 12, 1954) is an American professional baseball pitcher, coach, and manager. Rothschild played for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB) in 1981 and 1982. He has coached for the Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, and San Diego Padres. José Antonio Hernández Figueroa (born July 14, 1969) is a Puerto Rican professional baseball player and coach.
