''A Nameless Band'' ( bg, Оркестър без име) is a comedy movie filmed in 1980 and released in Bulgaria in 1982. It was directed by Lyudmil Kirkov and written by Stanislav Stratiev. The movie describes the life of the young generation in Bulgaria in the late seventies and early eighties. It is about dreams and reality, friendship, love... ''and something else'' (the favorite expression of Reni in the movie). Plot Vanya, Velko, Filip, Pavel and Gosho establish a band with a lead singer, Vanya (who is the girlfriend of Filip). They hope to make it to one of the big seaside resorts during the holiday season, as a part of their road to fame and success. For the trip they need HiFi equipment and good friends, high enough to arrange them a prestigious place to play. Lyudmil Kirkov
Lyudmil Kirkov ( bg, Людмил Кирков, 14 December 1933 – 12 December 1995) was a Bulgarian film director and actor. Kirkov was among the prominent Bulgarian film and theatre directors from the last decades of the 20th century. He directed some of the most popular Bulgarian films of that time, most notably '' The Swedish Kings'' (1968), '' The Boy Turns Man'' (1972), ''A Peasant on a Bicycle'' (1974), ''Matriarchy'' (1977) and the hit film '' A Nameless Band'' (1982). Georgi Rusev
Georgi Iliev Rusev ( bg, Георги Илиев Русев; 7 May 1928 – 1 April 2011) was a Bulgarian actor. He created a gallery of colorful characters for a four-decade career, and became famous as a master of the so-called "second plan roles". Biography and Career Georgi Rusev was born on 7 May 1928 in the village of Kostenets (village), Kostenets, Sofia Province. In 1952 he graduated as an actor in Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. His professional debut is on the stage of the Plovdiv Theater as Aesop in the staging by Leon Daniel after the novel of the same name. In the following years he played on the stage of the Mladezhki Theater, Sofia and from 1966 until 1990, Rusev is a member of a theatrical company with the Pernik Theater being its leader from 1977. Stanislav Stratiev (Bulgarian: Станислав Стратиев) (9 September 1941 – 20 September 2000) was a Bulgarian playwright, screenwriter, and author. Biography He began his career as a journalist while studying for an MA in literature at Sofia University. Stratiev's career as a playwright took off in 1974 with the runaway success of his first play, '' The Roman Bath'', which was performed at the Sofia's Satirical Theatre for more than 10 consecutive seasons to packed halls. That was followed by ''The Suede Jacket'', ''The Bus'', and many others. Stratiev's plays have been performed in Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Syria, the Slovak Republic, Turkey, and others.
